Being mid October we expected rain and cold winds, but the weather turned out to be fantastic! The sun shone in a near cloudless sky as we drove through the New Forest on our way to the campsite.
Upon arrival we found a nice pitch, and set about getting everything sorted and ship-shape. The rear steadies went down, the gas was turned on, and a cuppa was brewed!
The evening was spent in the Red Shoot Pub, which is next door to the campsite (www.redshoot.co.uk).
We had some lovely food, a couple of drinks, and sat & savoured our new purchase, dreaming of the endless holiday possibilities that lay ahead...
Waking up the following morning, we lay for a while all snug under the duvet, warm & cosy in the crisp coolness of a glorious October morning.
It goes without saying that we had to christen the motorhome with a lovely breakie, so Annie set about making bacon sarnies (with me on toast duty!).
Enjoying the first of hopefully many bacon sarnies in Big Brigadier!
We went for a short walk after breakfast, and ran into some old friends who were out hiking through the forest. After a quick chat, we headed back to the campsite, packed up, and then headed home.
Our love affair with Big Brigadier had begun!
